Riding lessons are provided in a group, semi private or private setting. In order to maintain individual teaching relationships,
group lessons are limited to five students. Foundation riding is taught to strengthen the skills of any rider from beginner to
advanced. A true seat with balance throughout the body, takes students confidently into the horse discipline of their choice.
We go on to teach the disciplines of English, Jumping, Dressage, Western and Trail. We also have a vaulting program
(gymnastics on horseback). All parts of horse care are taught, including grooming, health, farrier, saddling, groundwork and
care. (yep we even do mucking!!)
Cheryl West is a Master certified instructor of the Certified Horsemanship Association, and Registered instructor for the
Proffesional Association of Therapeutic Riding, has been teaching for ttwelve years and riding since she was 12. We also have
other great instructors on at the facility. Click on Instructor for more info.
Emphasis is placed on Safety first, confidence and fun while learning.
Lesson prices are kept low, and overhead is at a minimum in an effort to make horses and horse riding accessible to local
families.
Group lessons (of 3 to 5 riders) are a weekly lesson, for four weeks, for approximately 40 -45 minutes plus tacking/horse
care time. About one hour total.
Semi and privates are also available for a reasonable cost.
Shows are available for students, and are located at West Ranch and at other local farms. To see some of the students and

A non Profit team is also available for dedicated students. For more info on it click on team.

Sharon's breakthrough testimony -- For the past couple months I've just felt more confident when I enter into a session with one of my
horses. My 10 year old gelding Star has been my project for the last 8 years. He is a great horse whom I trust with anyone. But. . . he is not a
"dead head" by any means! Sometimes he gets full of adrenaline and just goes completely "right brain" (reactive). Previously when this
happened I would get very nervous and just not know what to do. But after taking lessons and learning dressage principles such as a "deep
seat" and learning how to really move with the horse, I feel much more confident and feel like I have the knowledge and tools I need to stay
safe, work out problems, and accomplish my goals. So after getting back from a 4 mile ride I decided to take Star into the arena and work on
some "schooling exercises". I asked him to side pass to the arena gate (a move he has done 100 times) and bucked and jumped
sideways! To my surprise however, I stayed on!! (I usually fall off or bail as soon as a horse bucks) I realized a second later that I wasn't
holding the horn, I wasn't bent over the front of the saddle, and my heals were still down! I realized that instead of going into the instinctual
"fetal position" I dug myself deeper in the saddle and naturally moved with my horse! I said to my friend, who was watching the whole event,
"that is what dressage has done for me." I asked Star to do the maneuver again and we continued with our schooling session, everything
went great! It was definately a breakthrough moment! Thanks Cheryl!! (Sharon is an adult student and was on her 6 month of lessons when
she wrote this testimony)
